In the early 50's Jack studied and worked in the field of Technical Drawing and Engineering design. Later he developed an interest in art whilst living in South Africa, visiting game reserves, the High Veldt and the Southern Coast. On returning to the UK he took professional lessons while living in East Yorkshire, exhibiting there and North Derbyshire. He enjoyed seven years of success at the prestigious Hull Centre Ferens art gallery 5 week long winter exhibitions. During this period he developed his skill in Impressionist and Abstract, learning his craft by copying the masters. Moving to Hampshire in 2000 he became a member of Farnham, Fleet and Odiham art societies. Jack has displayed his work at local exhibitions as well as obtaining commissions at home and overseas.
